Recently, a Lyft driver in Arlington picked up a passenger assuming this would be a regular ride. In a scary change of events, the rider produced a gun and threatened to tie the driver up. After pleading with the rider, the driver followed orders to head to Florida. Thankfully, the victim was able to get help and authorities were called once they reached Florida. It’s another in a pattern of crimes committed either by Uber or Lyft drivers, or against Uber and Lyft drivers.” Brogdon believes that more safety implements need to be put in place to protect both drivers and passengers using rideshare services.
